Safe and well-functioning transport connects all our projects, and is an indispensable component of participation in society. This is particularly important in this rural region, where safe, reliable mobility can be scarce. In addition to roadworthy and well-maintained vehicles, our well-trained drivers ensure reliable daily mobility. They take the children and young adults to school in the morning and pick them up again in the afternoon. They drive young sports enthusiasts to training sessions and to regional competitions. They accompany the house mothers on their weekly shopping trips and transport groceries for the residents of Clouds of Hope and the Halfway House. They also ensure that our children can access specialists should they require help coming to terms with their past.

Volkswagen South Africa has been enthusiastically supporting us since 2011. This is due to the long-standing partnership of our team in Germany, whose contacts and network have consistently emphasized the importance of safe transportation. Thanks also go to the Haubenstock Foundation in Germany, who are an important partner for maintenance and new purchases.

Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor for the sustainable mobility project contributes to a fund from which the new vehicles are financed, and covers the maintenance costs for all vehicles.

Safe transportation, while sometimes easy to overlook, enables our children with opportunities and experiences to become fully fledged, integrated members of society.
