FUTURE COMPASS

The Future Compass is a site in the Clouds of Hope children’s village consisting of a football field, sports area and multifunctional centre, which officially launched in 2019. On this site we pursue the goal of providing children and youth with sports, skills, and cultural development.

Future Compass brings everyone together and serves as an integrative meeting point for the children and young people from Clouds of Hope and the Halfway House, as well as children and youth from Underberg and Himeville communities. Here community coaches teach the youth diverse life skills, including sports and carpentry, as well as health awareness. Young mothers also meet here and learn how to sew from experienced seamstresses, in order to earn a living.

Plans for the future include building a second multifunctional building to expand this important offering by providing a base for further support including further career orientation, education and training.
